Appeal won for beauty salon & nail bar in Enfield
Posted: July 23, 2020
We are pleased to announce that we have won an appeal for a change of use of premises from hair and beauty salon (A1) to beauty salon and nail bar (Sui Generis), in the London Borough of Enfield.
Our client, due to demand from customers submitted a planning application to change the existing hairdressing salon to a beauty salon where a range of treatments including nails would be offered.
Enfield Council refused planning permission and our client’s business was in jeopardy if the change of use couldn’t take place. MZA Planning were commissioned to appeal the refusal and prepared a comprehensive appeal statement that included a shopping survey. We were able to successfully argue that the proposal was not contrary to policy and that the retail vitality and viability of the centre would not be harmed. Our client can continue to grow their business.
